Privacy at Paper Plate

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Paper Plate Restaurant collects, why we need it and the choices available to you.

Last updated 25 July 2026

Who we are

Paper Plate Restaurant operates from 318 Bridge Road, Richmond VIC 3121. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected] or on 03 9917 2563.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our restaurant and website, we may collect:

  • your name, email address and phone number;
  • your order, pickup time, order notes, payment status and transaction reference;
  • booking, voucher or enquiry details you give to us or our service providers;
  • technical and usage information such as page address, referral source, device or browser information, session identifiers and website interactions, but only through optional analytics when you accept it.

Square handles card details in its secure payment fields. Paper Plate does not receive or store your complete card number.

Why we collect it

We use personal information where reasonably needed to:

  • accept payment, prepare and fulfil an order;
  • confirm a booking, voucher purchase or order and contact you about it;
  • respond to questions, allergies or service issues;
  • keep transaction, security and business records; and
  • understand and improve the website when optional analytics are accepted.

If you do not provide the required checkout or booking details, we may not be able to process that request online. You can call us to discuss another option.

Providers and disclosures

We disclose only the information reasonably needed for a provider to perform its service. Providers used by the website may include Square for orders and payments, Supabase for application data, Resend for email receipts, Slack for operational notifications, Tabler for bookings and vouchers, and our website hosting and printing services.

If optional analytics are accepted, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and PostHog may receive device, usage and identifier information for measurement, advertising attribution, heatmaps or masked session replay. These providers may process information in Australia, the United States and other countries where their infrastructure or support teams operate. Their own privacy policies also apply to their handling of information.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

Cookies and analytics choices

Essential storage keeps your takeaway cart, checkout attempt and privacy preference working. Optional analytics and advertising tools stay off until you select “Accept optional tracking”. Declining does not prevent you from browsing, booking or ordering.

You can change your choice at any time with in the footer. Withdrawing your choice stops future optional tracking on that browser; it does not delete information already lawfully collected by a provider.

Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to our website and service providers. No internet service can promise absolute security. We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, to resolve issues and to meet applicable record-keeping requirements, then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

Access, correction and concerns

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing [email protected]. Please provide enough detail for us to identify the relevant information. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Updates

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version and its update date will remain available on this page.
